LibraryThe library is a well-resourced facility, staffed by a chartered Librarian and open to pupils and staff from 8.30am to 4pm each day. Pupils in Years 3 and 4 have weekly library sessions in half classes, where the emphasis is on engendering a love of books and reading for pleasure as well as teaching the skills of information retrieval. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and pupils are welcome to come in during their free time and after school to browse and borrow from the wide range of fiction, non-fiction, magazines, story tapes and book-related videos and DVDs. There are five computers available and all pupils are taught how to use the computerised library system for loans and enquiries.

Various activities are organised by the Librarian to mark key national children’s events such as World Book Day and Children's Book Week. We have held book fairs, had fun dressing up as famous book characters and enjoyed visits from well-known children’s authors.
