Year 6 residential trip to West Runton

Year 6 residential trip to West Runton 1 June 2010

Year 6 have recently travelled to West Runton for their annual activity holiday. Please see below for a report of the trip written by Year 6 pupil, Patrick Bevan.

Leap of FaithYear 6 went on our residential trip to West Runton and we spent 4 days there doing lots of exciting activities. Most of the activities were outside, like Abseiling, Zip Wire, Go-karting, Quad Bikes, Aeroball and Leap of Faith. Some were indoors, like Fencing, Archery, Rock Climbing and Laser Quest. We even went caving in a cave that was used in World War 2! Some of us also had an early morning outing to the beach! The weather was quite windy and rainy on Friday and Saturday, but that didn't matter because we were having so much fun. On Sunday and Monday it was really sunny and warm.

During the day we were split up into 4 groups and we all did the same activities but in a different order throughout the 4 days. In the evenings we all got together for activities like Scrapheap Challenge, Hot Spots and Mini Olympics. We slept in dormitories with our friends. I was in a dormitory of 10 but there were also smaller ones. The food at West Runton was really delicious - it was even better than school food and there was always plenty of it and lots of choice.

The whole trip was a really great experience. We all managed to do things we had never done before and things we thought we wouldn't be able to do. Our teachers were all brilliant and they helped us a lot. I'd like to thank Mr Dickinson for organising such a fantastic trip and also Mrs Bousfield, Mrs Roberts, Miss Baldwin, Mrs Gibson and Mr McCaughran for looking after us so well and joining in with all the activities.
