Welcome to The Perse Upper School
Upper School for students aged 11 to 18
Just over 2 miles from the centre of Cambridge, the Perse Upper School is situated on an attractive 27 acre green field site with extensive playing fields and recreational areas.
We provide a high quality academic education with an emphasis on all round development. Our pupils are drawn from a variety of backgrounds and are united by their pursuit of very high academic standards. We also provide pupils with a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities and the encouragement to develop their sporting, artistic, intellectual and musical talents. In short we aim to produce happy and successful pupils well-equipped for twenty first century life.
We are a co-educational school, and believe that in a world where men and women have the same career aspirations and work alongside each other, it is sensible and natural for boys and girls to be educated together, learning to respect one another as individuals. Important qualities such as empathy, emotional intelligence, team working and co-operation are best fostered in an environment where boys and girls work together, and where the emphasis is on valuing the individual. There is equality of opportunity for all Perse pupils irrespective of gender; this is a school where anybody can achieve anything.
We have invested £18 million over the last decade to give the school outstanding facilities including a purpose-built sports complex, a music centre, high specification science labs and a new teaching block incorporating the Dr Rouse library, 21 state of the art classrooms, and 3 IT rooms.
