Careers experience
The School is a member of ISCO (Independent Schools Careers Organisation), and most pupils take part in the ISCO Morrisby Profiling tests in Year 10. Interviews with ISCO follow in the autumn just prior to decisions about subjects to be studied in the Sixth Form.
In the two or three weeks of term after GCSE examinations end in mid June the School organises an extensive programme of Careers Experience courses, and all members of Year 11 are expected to take part in this programme, or organise their own Careers Placement. We regard this as an important opportunity to investigate possible areas of interest for future careers, and also an opportunity to learn and develop skills.
Many of the Careers Experience placements are provided by parents and these allow our pupils experience at a relatively high level, rather than basic support tasks, in a large range of careers from Barristers' Chambers to Fine Art Auction Houses.
Almost all of our pupils go on to study at university each year, and therefore we offer an extensive programme of preparation for university entrance. Each year a number of pupils in Year 12 also take part in the Careers Experience programme.
