In addition to the broad range of clubs, sports and musical opportunities on offer, all Year 11 and Sixth Form students participate in our timetabled Perse Enrichment Programme. This takes place on alternate Monday afternoons. There are also Field Weekends in the Michaelmas and Lent terms, when the full day (and for some activities, the weekend) is available for Enrichment activities.

Our aim is to help every pupil in Year 11 and the Sixth Form to participate in something exciting, challenging and useful.

Year 11 pupils opt for CCF RAF, The Perse Exploration Society, Perse Organic Garden, Environmental Projects or for one of the wide variety of Community Service activities.

In the Sixth Form, the range of activities on offer broadens to include activities such as Archaeology, Ballroom Dancing, Film Studies and Jewellery.

For some pupils, activities such as hospital placements and Community Service are a valuable way of thinking through decisions about Universities or careers.

Enrichment ArtCommunity Art gives pupils the opportunity to make art work which is displayed in local Primary Schools.

Many value the opportunity to spend time with elderly people or helping in schools as part of their Community Service placement, or to carry out practical conservation work around Cambridge.

Others simply enjoy the challenge of learning new skills – Jewellery or Cookery.

Many pupils also use Enrichment activities as part of the Skills or Service sections of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

The precise range of activities varies from year to year.  The list below gives a flavour of the activities offered in 2009-10.
